YourHomeDesk Terms of Service
Effective date: September 29, 2026
1. Who we are
YourHomeDesk is operated by YourHomeDesk LLC, a Georgia limited liability company ("YourHomeDesk", "we", "us"). These terms are an agreement between you and YourHomeDesk LLC. By creating an account or using yourhomedesk.com, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
2. Your account
- You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter a contract.
- Accounts may be available by invitation only. We decide who receives an invitation.
- Give accurate information and keep your sign-in methods secure. You are responsible for activity on your account.
- Tell us promptly at support@yourhomedesk.com if you think someone has accessed your account without permission.
3. Household members and sharing
The account owner can invite household members to a home and choose whether each can view or edit it. The owner can also create temporary, revocable links that show selected project information to someone else, such as a contractor. Shared links do not include original uploaded files.
The account owner is responsible for who they invite and what they share, and for having permission to share information about other people. Household members use the service under these terms. Access ends when the owner removes it or the owner's account can no longer be used.
Home handoffs. When you sell or pass on a home, you can create a handoff link that gives the next owner a copy of the home sections you choose, such as systems, care, history, providers and documents. Private notes are left out. The link expires and you can withdraw it before it is used. Once the recipient imports it, the copy belongs to their account: it stays there if you later delete yours, and you cannot pull it back. Only include what you are comfortable handing over.
4. What YourHomeDesk does, and does not do
YourHomeDesk keeps a private record of your home, organizes the documents and details you provide, and uses automated tools, including AI, to extract information, answer questions from your saved records, and compare quotes and project options.
- It can be wrong. Automated extraction, answers and comparisons may contain mistakes or miss information. Review the details before relying on them.
- It is not professional advice. YourHomeDesk does not inspect, diagnose, confirm safety or code compliance, or give engineering, legal, insurance, tax or licensed-trade opinions. For those, consult a qualified professional.
- You make the decisions. We do not choose or hire contractors, and we receive nothing from contractors. We do not contact anyone, schedule work, make purchases or approve anything for you. The service only sends what you ask it to, such as household invitations, share and handoff links you create, and reminders you set up.
- Emergencies. If you have an urgent safety concern, such as a gas smell, electrical hazard, fire or flooding, contact emergency services or a qualified professional immediately. Do not use YourHomeDesk for emergencies.
5. Plans and billing
- Prices. A subscription covers your first active home at $15 per month or $99 per year. Each additional active home is $6 per month or $49 per year. Household sharing is included. You will see the total before you pay.
- Taxes. Prices do not include taxes. If tax applies where you live, it will be shown at checkout and added to your charges.
- Paid in advance. Subscriptions are billed at the start of each monthly or annual period through our payment processor, Stripe.
- Automatic renewal. Your subscription renews automatically at the same interval, and we charge your saved payment method at each renewal, until you cancel. We email a reminder about 7 days before each renewal.
- Changing homes. Adding an active home increases your charge. You may be charged a prorated amount for the rest of the current period, shown to you before you confirm.
- Price changes. We will email you at least 30 days before a price change takes effect. It applies from your next renewal after the notice. You can cancel before then.
6. Cancelling
You can cancel at any time from your account's billing settings. Cancelling stops the next renewal. You keep full access until the end of the period you have already paid for.
7. Refunds
Payments are non-refundable, including for a change of mind, unused time, or cancellation part-way through a period. We will correct duplicate or erroneous charges, and we will give any refund required by applicable law. Contact support@yourhomedesk.com about a charge before disputing it with your bank. Most problems can be fixed faster that way.
8. Failed payments
If a renewal payment fails, we will email you and try again over about a week. You keep access while we retry. If payment still fails, your subscription ends and your account moves to read-only export access (section 9).
9. After your plan ends
When your subscription ends, whether by cancellation, failed payment or refund, the account owner has 30 days of read-only access to download a backup of their records. You cannot add or change records during this time. Shortly after those 30 days end, we permanently delete the account and its records, except the minimal billing records described in our Privacy Policy. You can delete the account yourself sooner from your account settings.
Complimentary access. We may give you free access for a set period, with the number of properties we tell you. No card is needed, and we will not charge you unless you choose a plan. When complimentary access ends, the same 30-day read-only period and deletion described above apply unless you start a paid plan.
How long we keep your files. Documents and photos you save to your home record, such as warranties, manuals, invoices, receipts and permits, are kept for as long as your account is active, including the 30-day export period after a plan ends. Files you upload only for a quote or project review are kept for 30 days from upload, then deleted; the details you confirm from them stay in your records. A backup includes the original files held when you download it.
10. Your content
- You own your content. This includes the documents, photos, notes and records you add.
- Our permission to use it. You give us permission to store, process, copy, convert and display your content only as needed to run the service for you and the people you choose to share with, to keep it secure, and to fix problems. We do not sell your content, use it for advertising, or use it to train AI models.
- Your responsibility. Only upload content you have the right to use. Do not upload anything unlawful or harmful. Uploads are scanned for malware, and we may refuse or remove files that fail checks.
11. Acceptable use
Do not misuse the service. For example, do not:
- access accounts or data that are not yours, or try to bypass security or usage limits;
- upload malware or interfere with the service;
- scrape, resell or copy the service, or use it to build a competing product;
- use it to harass anyone or to break the law.
12. Changes to the service
The service is in early release. Features may change, be added or be removed, and it may sometimes be unavailable. We will try to give reasonable notice before removing a feature you pay for. If we stop offering the service entirely, we will give at least 30 days' notice so you can download your records, and we will refund any prepaid time left after the service ends.
13. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, puts the service or other people at risk, or where the law requires it. Where it is safe and lawful, we will tell you why and give you a chance to download your records.
You can permanently delete your account from your account settings once your paid subscription has ended, including during the 30-day export period. Deleting during that period ends it immediately, so download anything you need first. While a subscription is active, set to cancel, or has an unpaid or unresolved payment, you need to cancel or resolve it before deleting. Deleting an account is permanent, and it does not remove copies you have already handed off to someone else.
14. Disclaimers
To the extent the law allows, the service is provided "as is" and "as available". We do not promise it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that its output will be accurate or complete. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer laws that cannot be waived.
15. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, YourHomeDesk LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses. This includes decisions you make or work you commission based on the service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose, or $100.
16. Disputes and governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia. If you have a dispute with us, email support@yourhomedesk.com first. We will try to resolve it informally within 30 days. If we cannot, either of us may bring a claim in the state or federal courts located in Georgia, and you may bring a claim in small claims court where eligible.
17. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. For material changes, we will email the account owner at least 30 days before they take effect. Continuing to use the service after that date means you accept the updated terms.
